Description

This piece is made by sifting multiple layers of glass powders. Channels are created, cleaned and filled and the piece is fired again. The top layer is blue with clear channels,while the bottom is a darker blue with clear channels. A small channel is filled with orange powder for the string and a circle is cut to create the accent balloon. The piece is fired multiple times at temperatures ranging from 1300F-1465F. In the final firing the piece is slumped into a mold to create its shape.
